I offer Mobile Physical Therapy and Wellness services on the Big Island to accommodate your schedule. I will come to your home or preferred location including parks, beaches, etc. I offer customized treatments tailored for each individuals needs and goals. I also offer consultation services and caregiver training if needed.
Initial appointments require one hour to assess needs, set goals, and develop a plan.
1. We will discuss your current and past activity level,
2. We will discuss what activities you want or need to be able to perform,
3. I will evaluate your current strength and flexibility
4. By the end of the visit, you will have goals set and we will develop a plan to get you to those goals.
Sessions are typically one hour, but can be extended if needed.
The cost of healthcare continues to increase. You pay your premiums just to have insurance, but then you are also expected to pay co-pays and deductibles. Some co-pays are rising as high as $60 per visit. Deductibles, which are your yearly out of pocket costs, are around $10,000 or higher on average. That means you pay the first $10,000 of your expenses before your insurance company is required to start paying part of your medical bills.
A typical session in a clinic includes about 15 - 20 minutes with a licensed physical therapist or a physical therapy assistant and the rest of your time is on your own or with a tech. Now, if your co-pay is $50 per session and you have 2 sessions per week, you are now up to $100 per week for 30-40 minutes with a physical therapist or the physical therapy assistant.
As a traveling physical therapist, you will have the convenience of your therapist coming to you. This includes 1 hour of my complete attention, as well as have access to me by phone or email with any questions or concerns. You will have control to get the attention you desire to achieve your goals.
In my career I have often met people who tell me they have tried physical therapy without feeling they achieved anything meaningful. This could be for many different reasons. Every therapist will have a different approach. I will focus on what you want to gain from the experience. What I have learned over the years is to find out: what does this person I am working with really want to be able to do? My purpose is to help you achieve your goals. This is why setting goals will be so important.
Results do not happen overnight, but you should expect to see progress and improvement within a few weeks.
Depending on the activities you are able to do independently and how consistent you are with the home program that is designed for you will determine how successful you are in reaching your goals.
Helping the Big Island community and providing excellent service is my goal.
